The way Cloudflare handled switter.at's suspensions sounds like someone high up in Legal or even a C-level exec pressed the panic button, the "Get this stuff off our service immediately" and that overrode any customer service concerns about suspending a customer with no prior notice.
@staticsafe oh, I don't doubt that. But either way, it looks extremely poorly on them as a company. I've already heard from people working at some very big companies that they're looking at now leaving cloudflare.
@MistressEmelia yeah even if your service is all 'legal', them suspending a customer without any notice is going to ring all sorts of alarm bells even it is well within their rights and obligations to do so
they aren't winning the PR battle for this one
@staticsafe yeah, absolutely.

@staticsafe The CEO's had time now to write a sympathetic blog post like the one he wrote when they kicked Daily Stormer and yet all he's done is write a comment in an HN thread that got flagged off the front page before anyone seen it.
@vi I'm surprised he commented at all
also probably not a coincidence that this happened after switter.at got a bunch of press in big tech news sites
