I can't believe there are people who have some sort of weird nostalgia for Mercy's old ultimate ability (Resurrection) and defend it
The resurrection as it is now is in a much better place smh
I guess I shouldn't be surprised

@noelle yeah definitely, lot of people also in that comment thread saying how amazing it felt to pull off a 5 person res as Mercy and I can't disagree
@staticsafe It did feel amazing, but the problem was that the optimal way to play became "if anyone's taken damage, hide until the whole team is down and then get a 5-person rez to get everyone back to full health".
@noelle yep, that whole Mercy hiding thing was Blizzard's reasoning for changing it
it was very boring to play if you are the Mercy, I still don't think Mercy is the most exciting hero to play nowadays but at least I don't have to go hide in a corner and wait for my team to die
as an aside, it is also weird to me to say people have nostalgia about a thing in a video game that is only 2 years old
but that is only because somehow I had the misconception that nostalgia was strictly based on time and the distance thereof but its actually time passed+change
(that may sound obvious to you, but bear with me here)
@staticsafe I don't quite get the Mercy nostalgia, but I'm feeling increasing nostalgia for Symmetra as she was at launch.
@staticsafe I mean two years *is* a long time, if we're honest
Two years ago I was a very different person
@staticsafe I'm actually one of those people. I haven't played much since they changed Mercy.
@srol fair enough, what about current Mercy turns you off from playing?
@staticsafe I find Mercy's ult now too distracting and too high pressure. This probably means I'm just not cut out for competitive shooters on the first place
@staticsafe People really like Big And Showy in multiplayer games, even if it's objectively not as good as Smaller But More Effective.
